If you have a kerosene heater, is it working properly? We suggest you clean the tank and reservoir with clear kerosene only. Never use water.You should inspect the operation of the wick mechanism and the emergency shut-off device to assure they will operate properly. If the wick has any crusty deposit or tar on it, it should be cleaned or replaced. Also look for carbon deposits on the burner chimney and remove with rag or brush. Replace any damaged or broken chimney components such as wire coils, wire domes or glass collars.
